This 46-year-old woman had had a previous breast augmentation and one sided “crescent” mastopexy by another surgeon. She presented with asymmetrical breasts, a ruptured implant on one side, and large asymmetrical areolas. I performed a revision for her in 2 stages: during the first stage I removed both implants, removed both capsules or scars that were around the implants, reconstructed her implant pockets with Acellular Dermal Matrix (“ADM”) to act as a new internal bra for the breasts, and placed new highly cohesive gel gummy bear implants; for the second stage we lifted and reduced the size of her areolas to create an overall more youthful and symmetrical result. Photos taken 6 weeks after surgery show a lovely result, good balance in shape and size of the breasts as well as the areolas, whose incisions will soften and improve with time.
