This patient originally underwent breast augmentation with a breast lift in 2014. Following two subsequent pregnancies, she returned to Dr. Salemy seeking a breast revision to address changes in implant position and feel.
Dr. Salemy performed a bilateral implant removal with capsulectomy, removing the patient’s original 286cc silicone implants along with the surrounding scar tissue capsule. The implant pockets were then reconstructed using Strattice, an acellular dermal matrix (ADM). Strattice functions as an internal support structure and often described as an “internal bra” that reinforces the lower pole of the breast and helps support the implant in its ideal position over time. It is one of the techniques Dr. Salemy relies on most often in breast revision surgery, particularly in cases where the tissue has been stretched or weakened by previous procedures, weight loss or pregnancy.
New Motiva Round Demi implants (300cc) were then placed, along with a breast lift to restore optimal shape and position. The goal of this combined approach was to achieve a better implant position, support, and long-lasting result for her breast revision surgery.
