Hi everybody, it’s Dr. Salemy. I wanted to talk about a really cool case we just did: a woman in her 40s who was interested in a breast augmentation. But there’s a few things that she really was particular about. One is she wanted to get better symmetry.
If you look at the pictures, she’s got differences left to right in terms of the size of the breast, but the overall shape of the breast is pretty good. When we see that, we want to do everything we can to preserve the natural anatomy of the breast (hyperlink to breast impending preservation blog post). So, when we’re doing an augmentation, in this situation, we want to stay modest with the size. That’s what the patient wanted. We want to improve symmetry, so we put in two different-size implants.
And if we can, we’d like to preserve the breast and place those implants above the muscle, but below the breast tissue, leave the breast tissue intact. So, we’re able to accomplish that with Motiva’s Ergonomix® Implants. And in her case, we use the mini implant, which is a low-profile implant. We use the 170 on her larger left breast (170 cc’s) and a 245 cc implant on her smaller, right breast, and in doing that, we created really nice symmetry.
And so what these pictures in the video show is what she looks like about six weeks after surgery: Really nice shape, really nice symmetry, soft breasts that move naturally.
