Dr. Shahram Salemy is excited to announce that his Seattle plastic surgery clinic has gained accreditation from the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF), an organization that sets the “gold standard” for quality patient care. To be AAAASF accredited, the facility must pass a rigorous and thorough inspection on hundreds of criteria focused on patient safety. The criteria evaluates areas such as the general environment, the operating room setting, the recovery room setting, the policies and procedures governing the operating and recovery rooms, blood and medications, medical records, quality assessment and improvement, staff, and anesthesia.
Dr. Salemy opened his new plastic surgery center in 2014 and wanted to ensure that the new state of the operating room was built to meet and in many instances exceed standards for size, equipment and personnel to ensure patient safety and with the utmost care towards comfort, privacy, and confidentiality for patients. While it is a big responsibility in maintaining an in-office ambulatory surgical suite, Dr. Salemy adds, “All the effort is worth it to create an operating room centered on patient needs and care.”
An award winning plastic surgeon and clinical instructor at the University of Washington’s Division of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Salemy has office locations in Seattle and Richland, Washington.
