Planning Your Surgery: A Timeline for Success

  1. Close to Your Goal Weight

If you’re within 20 pounds of your goal weight, we’re happy to meet in person and start planning your surgery. Early planning allows us to discuss your goals, review options, and create a personalized plan so you’re ready when the time is right.

  2. Pregnant Mothers

For those who are pregnant, wait until after your baby is born and your body has had time to heal. Remember, it took nine months to create this beautiful life, so give yourself time. Schedule your consultation when you have support, can get good rest, and have time to heal.

  3. Nursing Mothers

We welcome meetings with nursing mothers at any stage to discuss future goals. However, surgery cannot proceed while nursing because anesthesia and post-operative medications can pass into breast milk. For breast procedures, surgery can be scheduled once you’ve stopped nursing for at least three months.

  4. Age-specific Requirements

If you are over 40 and interested in a breast procedure, we will require a mammogram within one year of surgery. If you are over 50, we will also require medical clearance from your primary care provider. If you haven’t had a physical in the last year, your provider will likely want to see you in person. Keep in mind that many primary care and mammography offices have several month wait times, so please plan ahead.

Planning Ahead

No matter your stage, early planning helps you feel confident, prepared, and excited about the results you want. Your goals are achievable, and we’re here to support you every step of the way!

We have chosen not to display before and after photos of labiaplasties given the sensitive nature of this anatomy. However, we will be happy to show you before and after photos at your consultation so that you may see the kinds of results that are possible with this procedure.
