Member, The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS)

Dr. Salemy received his board certification by The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) in 2006 after a stringent two-year certification process. The ABPS is the only plastic surgery board recognized by The American Board of Medical Specialties, requiring the passing of both written and oral examinations, extensive educational and research experience, and top-notch credentials from all candidates.

Member, The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS)

Since 2008, Dr. Salemy has maintained an active membership in The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). Founded in 1931, the Society currently represents 94 percent of the nation’s board-certified plastic surgeons with the mission of engaging in advanced surgical practices and the ethical treatment of all patients. Its rigorous requirements for membership include graduation from an accredited medical school, the completion of a minimum of six years of surgical training (to include three years of plastic surgery training), passing the required oral and written comprehensive exams, and board certification by The American Board of Plastic Surgery. A commitment to the Society’s ongoing continued training programs results in superior quality care that translates into a strong sense of security for the patient.

Member, The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

As a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr. Salemy is among a distinct group of plastic surgeons committed to the advancement, safety, and excellence in aesthetic plastic surgery and cosmetic medicine. Before being accepted as a member, a surgeon’s aesthetic surgical and nonsurgical experience is reviewed extensively along with meeting stringent requirements such as board certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Members are provided with continuous education, training, and tools with the goal of providing patient care with the utmost safety and highest standards of ethical conduct.

Clinical Assistant Professor, The University of Washington School of Medicine

The University of Washington School of Medicine has one of the nation’s top plastic surgery training programs. Dr. Salemy spent six years in residency at the school’s Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery program, completing his residency in 2005. In 2013, he was appointed as Clinical Instructor in the University’s Department of Surgery, Plastic Surgery division, a position only offered to a select group of plastic surgeons, teaching chief residents in the areas of cosmetic surgery. As of July 1, 2022 Dr. Salemy has been promoted to the rank of Clinical Associate Professor.

Fellow, The American College of Surgeons (FACS)

In 2008, Dr. Salemy received the privilege in becoming a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). The FACS is an honor bestowed only on those practitioners who abide by high educational and professional standards and conduct.
