Despite our best efforts, as we age several forces act against our skin and prevent us from having that soft, smooth, wrinkle-free look. Factors including time, age, lifestyle and even genetics can all act to thin and dry our skin which cause the classic signs of aging. Knowing this, we can utilize several topical treatments to help reverse these signs of aging, maintain a fresher looker, and most importantly, simply make your skin healthier.
Dr. Salemy uses medical grade skin treatments to topically improve the skin’s turnover and maturation process as well as to actually help thicken the skin. Alpha Hydroxy Acids are also used to smooth your skin and help retain its moisture. Together, these two products act to give the skin a smoother look, correct minor wrinkles, and correct red and brown spotting on the skin without excessive irritation or dryness. Other treatments, such as hydroquinones which can even out your skin tone, can then be utilized to complete your specific skin care plan. Often the best approach to skin rejuvenation is a comprehensive one, and for many patients the Obagi skin care line is an excellent option, and the specific regimen options can be reviewed in detail at your consultation.
Dr. Salemy and his skin care specialists will work closely with you to design a regimen that is tailored to your particular skin type and treatment goals. In many cases, a good skin care program is all you will need. However, should a surgical procedure be desired, this skin care regimen can be utilized not only to prepare your skin in anticipation of surgical rejuvenation, but also to maintain the results for years after your procedure.

We used to believe that wrinkles were as certain as death and taxes, but not any more. BOTOX® Cosmetic, the popular fix for celebrities and everyday people alike, is now accepted as a safe, effective treatment for wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows (frown lines), and in the “crow’s feet” areas of the face. Unlike injectable fillers such as collagen and fat transfers that fill in wrinkles or depressions, BOTOX® Cosmetic physically weakens the muscles so that the facial skin is smoothed, relaxed, and natural looking.
Dr. Salemy always personally prepares your formulation of BOTOX® Cosmetic fresh on the day of injection at his Seattle office, and he performs BOTOX® Cosmetic injections with the tiniest injection needle available in order to avoid discomfort or bruising.

JUVÉDERM®
Injectable Gel
JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel is injected under the skin to provide a smooth, natural look and feel. In addition, JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that is proven to be safe and effective for persons of color.
JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel is very effective for diminishing wrinkles around the corners of the mouth, the lips, the nasolabial folds (commonly referred to as “parentheses”), and even the frown lines (between the eyebrows). It is also a wonderful product for lip augmentation and improvement of lip definition, as its soft consistency creates the most natural look and feel. Experience shows that JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel is effective for six months or more, and when injected properly by an experienced surgeon, provides a very natural look and feel that is in balance with the rest of your face.
Voluma™
Voluma™ XC injectable gel is the first and only filler FDA-approved to instantly add volume to the cheek area. The product is a hyaluronic acid, similar to JUVEDERM®, and is designed to restore contour and volume to the cheeks or midface. It can last for up to 2 years and the procedure is performed right in our office (no surgery required). JUVEDERM® and Voluma™ are a bit different: JUVEDERM®is designed to smooth out moderate to severe wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth, while Voluma™ is designed to add volume to the cheek area. The recovery is relatively quick (after 24 hours you should be able to resume your normal activities) and side effects relatively moderate (common side effects include temporary reactions at the treatment site such as tenderness, swelling, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, pain, redness, discoloration, and itching).
Radiesse®
Radiesse® is a pure, synthetic compound with a record of safety that extends more than 25 years. It is comprised of microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite, combined with an aqueous gel. The key element of Radiesse® is identical to the chemical structure of calcium naturally present in the human body. Throughout its life, Radiesse® remains soft and flexible and also exceptionally compatible with the body.
When injected, the cream-like texture of Radiesse® feels soft and natural. Unlike temporary treatments that must be repeated, Radiesse® usually lasts at least a year or longer. Dr. Salemy finds Radiesse® particularly useful not only for deeper lines and wrinkles, but also to improve the volume of the cheeks and even for rejuvenation of the hands. Either procedure can be performed safely in the office with little or no downtime.
